I'm a new member on this site, and glad that I found it.
I've got a 1953 chev 3800 5 window, stock with the 216. She is in good shape, and I've had her 5 months. I was a roofer back in the 1960's, and drove a 1949 3600 for five years. I loved that truck; it was my dad's.
I have been looking for another old chevy truck, and was glad to run across this '53. I'm pulling the carb off today to re-build, as she doesn't want to start. Getting spark and gas, but no go. Starts with ether, and then dies. I'm glad it gave me problems here at home and not on the road, as usually happens.
That's about it, thanks, somerust

Gosh, yes. Nice truck. Can you send some more camera angles so we can get better look at it. (Even inside!)
If you need some help with questions as you work on her, we have an excellent SHOPS team who I bet to help you out. We have an member called "carbking" ... and he is just that! He has over 2,500 posts, many in the Engine Bay. 125 pages of them.
Welcome to the site!
