Haven't bought any, just wondering if they're worth the money. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | I just bought a set from a guy on ebay for my 1950 3/4 ton. All I can say is wow! These things fit perfect and they look great. I paid 275 for the set and 100 to ship them to Salt Lake from TN. These are the best purchase I have made for my truck yet. My old fenders were cracked and dented to the point they weren't worth bothering with and all the steels I looked at were either a fortune or the same condition. If you want the guys e-mail let me know he is really a good guy and makes all his own parts. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | I've ran R&R Fiberglass fenders for years. They are out of Tenn. I like them and they hold up well. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | Be careful when tightening down the fender bolts. Too much torque and you will put a crack in that glass fender.

I have had no problems but thats not to say rubber washers would not be a good idea. I've had the 37 well past 100 on several ocassions and sure the fiberglass "shook" a little but no problems anywhere.....I even left off a couple braces so I would not drill through the fiberglass.....however I have some special type brace i want to put on them......someday!! | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 3,596 | The tips that the guy provided me on purchase was to make sure I cleaned them well before painting to remove the mold release agent. The second recommendation was a good undercoating to prevent stone damage. | | |
