Just picked up another big bolt. It is an 47 AD 2-ton with a 2 speed rear. Purchased from a member on here. It was along day due to my map app on my iPhone leading me 4 hours out of the way. Luckily he was patient and waited on me... Not sure of the plans for this one or my 40 or 41, but I now one 4 big bolts.

What transmission does the 47 have? My 46 has the GKT134, this one appears to have a PTO shaft coming off the left side. Is it an SM420?

It has been sandblasted, but wasn't really taken apart to do that. I'm thinking of getting it fired up and making the brake pedal do something so I can move it around if needed. I think after that it will have to wait a little while for me to make it pretty...

This really is a disease!

Congrats!
Old trucks are like potato chips--you can't get by with just one!

47 was the first year for the SM420. Here is a link to the info on that tranny. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transmissions/manual/sm420
Congrats on the new truck! I'm trying to get another as well, if the guy will ever call me back!

Its kinda hard to pass one up in that kind of condition. It gets to be a disease. I have over a dozen 2 ton and larger. Just about all of them run. Only the ones with air brakes stop.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Well, This may be a record for me. About two weeks and I traded it for a 96 3500 crew cab.

I have some expenses coming up and I'll either sell the "new" truck or sell my 2011 3/4 ton Suburban and drive the 96....

Either way, the truck went to someone who plans to put it back on the road soon. Hopefully we will show up on this site.

Yeah... Stupid phone. I looked on my computer the night before and got the directions. Should not have blindly trusted my phone.
