It is an 47 AD 2-ton with a 2 speed rear. Purchased from a member on here. It was along day due to my map app on my iPhone leading me 4 hours out of the way. Luckily he was patient and waited on me... Not sure of the plans for this one or my 40 or 41, but I now one 4 big bolts. What transmission does the 47 have? My 46 has the GKT134, this one appears to have a PTO shaft coming off the left side. Is it an SM420? It has been sandblasted, but wasn't really taken apart to do that. I'm thinking of getting it fired up and making the brake pedal do something so I can move it around if needed. I think after that it will have to wait a little while for me to make it pretty... This really is a disease! http://s1006.photobucket.com/user/rrdomeck/library/1947%202-ton%20Chevy?sort=3&page=1 | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 2,946 | Congrats! Here is a link to the info on that tranny. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transmissions/manual/sm420Congrats on the new truck! I'm trying to get another as well, if the guy will ever call me back! | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,903 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,903 | Its kinda hard to pass one up in that kind of condition. It gets to be a disease. I have over a dozen 2 ton and larger. Just about all of them run. Only the ones with air brakes stop. | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Great save. Better get them while we can! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 | Well, This may be a record for me. About two weeks and I traded it for a 96 3500 crew cab.
I have some expenses coming up and I'll either sell the "new" truck or sell my 2011 3/4 ton Suburban and drive the 96....
Either way, the truck went to someone who plans to put it back on the road soon. Hopefully we will show up on this site. | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 331 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 331 | I wouldn't tell anyone I let my phone lead me 4hrs out of the way.
1950 4100 - unrestored and driven weekly for almost no reason at all.

Should not have blindly trusted my phone. | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 1,159 | Dumb "Smartphones",anyway! | | |
