New to Stovebolt. Just bought this truck excellent overall condition for 68 year old truck. The guy I bought it from who owned it for 35 years did not know or did not tell that engine was not original. My search so far shows it is a 235 from 1959.he also said it was converted to 12 volts but all he did was change from generator to alternator. Maybe when they changed the engine in the 70's before he bought it they changed it to a 12 volt system with a generator. It seems to run ok and he drove it for years with no issues. So maybe dumb luck every thing was done right. I guess I'll ask some questions in the other forums.where would I ask questions about the originality of the all wood flatbed? Thanks for all the info I've found already on the site.Bob PS will post pics when I figure it out

Welcome to the Stovebolt, Bob. We have many members here from CA. and probably some are near you. Watch for them.

Sounds like you got a good deal. We do have a forum for truck beds but since your truck is a 1 1/2 ton the bed question may be best asked in the BIG BOLT Forum. Lots of knowledge and great folks hang out here.

NOTE: as a new member you cannot send PM's and a couple other things until you have been moderated for your first 4 post. This is to help keep out spammers and such. After 4 post you can send private messages and enjoy every asset of the Bolt.
See you around the garage and again, congrats on your truck.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Welcome! Ditto the love for '46 Big Bolts. Insanely good looking front ends on the "Deco" series.
