Who's coming and where from? (We will have a separate thread about the convoy so folks who want to join the rolling Stovebolt Thunder can see where they can jump in.)

This list was updated to September 4th and is on page three

Thanks,
Peggy

Peggy asked me to try and keep a list of who and how many people will be at the reunion.
I'll try and keep it updated at least every few days.
Name, Handle and where you will be coming from would be a start.
PM me with your cell number and I will only share it with a select few so we can all keep an eye on each other.
The last few years the group has been staying at Econo Lodge in north KC.
They have been good to us and have picnic tables out back to get together in the evenings for a few adult beverages.

Thanks
Don

Just saw that about the dog. Her name is Freja (she'll be 8 months old next week). She was six months here. She loves to run.

We took her with us for the USMC band concerts over Memorial Day and she did good. She's real friendly and likes kids. We have so many kids constantly coming to our house so that's been good for her.

Do they allow any old Chevy or does it have to be a truck? I'll try to drive up for Saturday anyway but it'll likely be in my regular car. If any old Chevys are allowed I might come up Friday with the '38 & stay over night.

Friday night used to be cruise in night for any old vehicle. I assume it still is. They will have a band.

The show (Saturday and Sunday)is trucks only. Any make, model or size.

Bring it, Tiny.

Bring the old Chevy.
You will not be able to park it among the trucks Saturday, but Friday night you will have a premo parking spot by the band and a lot of bolters talking to you about it.
Lawn chairs are a must have for the weekend.

Straight flight distance for Tim and Karen, from Sydney to Kansas city is
8815.97 miles/ 14187.93 km.

This should break the record for the Stovebolt gang and the entire show.

Looking forward to meeting you guys!

Ah yea ... I don't think Leo will get the long distance award this year.

Oh, did we ever have a long distance award?

Shoot, that will knock out the East-coasties, too. grin

Tim ... would they let you bring a rock from Australia onto the plane? (We have a Stovebolt rock-wall in progress here at HQ ... we were hoping to bring a few from Kansas this year since John should have plenty of space!)

Cool that you all are coming. It is a blast.

Peggy, I forgot about the rock wall. I'll have Vicki pick one out for you.
Should the rock be tagged on where it came from?

Don,

Yes, please mark it. WE b OLD but a cool Indiana sticker on his when he came to Homecoming one year.

Tim, it doesn't have to be a huge rock. Whatever you can bring on a plane. Don't let them get you in any trouble.

This will be nice to get a few rocks from KC, and the gang that comes to this event.

Well, the rock garden has been a start-and-stop project. You can't do a lot to make a rock garden until you have a substantial amount of rocks. That's when we started with the Homecoming donations. We have a few other special rocks in there: one from the house where I grew up as a kid; some from Maine (representing John's stomping grounds); a few from Alabama where I lived when I met John :), etc. We have a special glass rock that stays in the house. It's even inscribed "Stovebolt." Once the "garden" is done, it will go in a safe place out there.

One Homecoming, NAPCO Man brought me a BOULDER from Virginia. Then the "game" was on. So, I have about five really huge rocks. I'll get a pix sometime ... and get it OUT of this thread! (Sorry for hijacking ... it's sorta related, isn't it ... bringing the rock and all ??? not me) If Mexico Sab comes, I hope to get a rock from her!!

Scott, I have found that when I'm out running the woods and find an interesting rock, take it home and give it to Vicki, there are way more points in that rock than store bought flowers.

Thats a sign of a good woman.
