When you were out here yesterday, either before or after John nabbed you for some help, you should have taken some photos of the campsites. Give the new folks an idea of what they are in for ... I mean, some of the choice pickens.

For OPSEC reasons, i can't send pictures of HQ and the troop's quarters. The SA would surely fine me or put me to the firing squad for doing so. Maybe on the classified network I can send along the layout.

Victor, he's mentioned it before, I think he's serious. Done carefully and with skill it can look exceptionally good.

Hey, I'm open to new and different. I've never seen the "vaporizer method" in action before and I'm always looking to upgrade from my "low-tech redneck" methods. Let's do it!

We have never met, Chris Sweet dropped my house in Stafford, VA a couple of weeks ago and gave me a hand with my differential on my 53 GMC 1/2 ton.

He mentioned the "Homecoming" and I saw your thread for a head count.

I might be able to attend on Friday the 25th but I will definetly be there on Saturday the 26th.

I'm thankful person and not picky at all. I'll take what ever is not in use. I had been on a camping/woodcraft kick ever since I read a book from Nessmuk and I thought to myself, "self, how bad could it be." I remember the good memories of back when with the two man tent but also remember how I felt when I was there. One tends to remember the good time and not the bad. Realistically, if I don't have to ruff it than I will not.

I will not comment about the organization of the wood shop and be thankful for a roof and four walls.

Bread -- Bring something comfy to sleep on and I will provide more space than a shelter half. I've used a shelter half plenty of times, even after those times you speak of (when we were "professional campers ..."). In fact, I used mine at Winchester last year. It was great (it didn't storm). How did we ever sleep two men and all our deuce gear in one of those tents??

Very carefully! I hope that you remember to dig the trench around the shelter half so you don't get a river running through you tent. Also, make sure the sergeant at arms ensures that the shelter halves are perfectly online before he starts drinking otherwise it might get interresting!

OH MY GOSH! I'M MS JANUARY ON THE BURB CALENDAR!!!!!!!! I had no idea! o.0 Yeah, as usual I'm a little behind on the times. I need to order one.

MR and I are going to try to make it to the Homecoming. Scheduling will be tight. He has signed up to be a vendor at the 3rd annual Spring Craft Show as PAX Saturday. We're supposed to be there to set up around 5am...EEEWWW! He has taken up a new hobby...wood turning. Oh, please come by the show and wake me up, ugh. I guess his new hobby is more comfortable than a cold garage floor because....

My 58 Burb left this afternoon to be looked over before being put on the road. It should be road ready by Homecoming!!!!! I should be driving it in this year. You all keep your fingers crossed for me.
And pardon the tears if I drive in crying...it's been a long time coming. More than 30 years since I tried to get my Dad to let me have his, :cD

Well, the weather is looking better now than what it did a few days ago.

After some planning and discussion, my wife and kids are going to join in on the weekend festivities. We'll make the trek either late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

Boy, its Tuesday before one of our biggest events of the year and there ain't a whole lot of chatter going on. How about an attendance list to start and maybe a run down of who plans on being around for the Stovebolt Banquet Saturday night!

Check status of fire last pm. Added an accessory pile to ensure proper flame containment. You are ensured of quality fire. Also assisted with tent sight 2 preparations. Tent sight 1 to be prepped thurs pm. Commenced equipment washing and checkouts. All a go to this point. Did not check bier status, but hope to test taste throughout the week. The water skiing boat is in the shop so I think that activity is cnxed this year. Might have to assist with grass cutting and other final preps wed. Bring it on!

Still planning on coming and still planning on driving the Grummnan (but still trying to get comfortable with it for the distance it needs to travel). Had to do much more work on it than I thought I would (more accurately put, it took me longer to do the work I knew needed to be done), but even if I don't go to Carlisle on Thursday, I plan to get everything done.

Expect to leave Friday, mid-day. Could take a couple of hours to get there----with no issues. Rescue Squad, please be on call!

Sir yes Sir! Reporting for duty. Roll Call. Or whatever. You'll see me Friday along with whoever else is following Sweet and Cosmo to headquarters.

Billy, Lifeboat is washed and ready. Firering never leaves my side. Propane and beer still need to be aquired. Dempsey needs a bath and marker lights are not working. Unless our dinner cruise keeps us out past the light of day, I should be ok.

I should be there Friday and Saturday...looking forward to seeing everyone!

Good morning bolters, I have a small tent if anyone needs it. I'll bring it along. I plan to just sleep in the Astro. My air mattress fits snugly between the wheelwells.

By the way, I would like to attempt a tune up,on Mr Astro. I also want to change the diffy fluid. Does anyone have one of those suction pumps to extract the fluid from the differential? If so, can you please throw it in your bag ?

I regret that I won't be able to make it to the big event. We are hosting a BBQ for my oldest son's college basketball team. He graduates in a couple weeks and this is the last get-together for the team. Have a great time gents. Looks like a long and and distinguished guest list.

Jim -- Plenty of covered places suitable for cot/sleeping on cot: Garage; shop; Basement (access to head included!); Billy's awning; Mikey's awning; the Hoopty Van; the pole barn.

We still have one actual bed available within HQ itself (futon couch that folds down flat into a queen sized bed) in the Stovebolt Office/Sun Porch, but I will hold that for the Bread Family unless I hear otherwise.

Cosmo, you are still down for the Presidential Suite. By the way, we provide 24/7 security for the presidential suite. Sven, the attack duck (he's Marine Corps Recon & scout Sniper trained), is already standing guard outside your door. He even repelled an attack last night (Unfortunately, a "blue on blue" incident instigated by a junior member of the security detail...). He's slightly injured and on light duty today but he'll be back on full duty by the weekend.

Grandma Stovebolt has the Bridal Suite.

Alvin -- do we need to figure you into the accommodations?

Victor, Joe and anyone else bringing an RV/Motorcoach -- Please be sure to note that here in this thread so Billy can put on his "Camper Don" vest and figure you into the Camp Stovebolt layout plan.

Mikey, could you do a fire extinguisher presentation/inspection for all interested Bolters? Size, type, use, attack protocol, placement in vehicle, etc?

SAA, get extra rack time, pulling you off the mid-watch for extra rack time, busy weekend.

Hambone, ensure fuel containers are clearly marked GAS and DIESEL.

All Attendees, John and Peg provide several essentials like coffee, condiments, breakfast rolls and the like, feel free to chip in a couple bucks, additional fund if CAMP COM brings cow and pig meat.

Lori & I enjoyed meeting everyone at Freemason Abby. I won't be able to make it to this event but it sounds interesting! My truck went to the paint shop Monday so the garage is sadly empty. It's a strange situation! Perhaps next year...

Presidential Motorcade has been established. The ODSS Presidential Motorcade will also be escorting a highly distinguished VIP member of the Southern Bolters.

I'm thrilled we were all able to workout the meeting time at the Hot Rod Shop.

A 5 truck convoy to HQ will be a sight to see!!

The plan is to load up Fourbrad's truck with the SAA challenge, and depart my place around 10:30 or so. This will put us at HQ before lunch.

John, thanks for the scoop on the pump. I don't particularly care where the ASTRO lands and will park where directed. I would however like to perform some work on it and get it down near the shop near the toolboxes for a few hours. Should I bring my own jackstands or are there a pair of loaners I could use while working on my differential? I also have a pair of ramps I could carry if necessary? please let me know. John, I just installed a converter in my panel so I'll have power for my C-Pap machine. I'll most likely sleep in the panel between the wheel wells or lay the Silverado seats back and snooze. I'm planning to meet up with Sweet before they leave.

I got the 700R4 in and I'm wiring it tonight for the lockup. Either way I'll be "on the road again" tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for thinking of me. I'll also bring my "recliner chair" that I could sleep in one of the building as long as it has power! No biggie either way. I'm a country boy and nights are short

I guess I better get my truck washed and lights working. Looking to be a great weekend!!

Joe -- We have ramps, jack stands, blocks, chain falls, engine hoist ... and when Boteler gets here, we might even have a wrecker. Shoot, we could take the backhoe and dig you a pit like the fancy shops use for changing oil, servicing vehicles without hoisting up the vehicle.

Alvin -- whatever you want to do, we can accommodate. I have a cot or two, as well. Even a folding bed. We may not be as fancy as the American Inn, but we can git 'er done, Pard!

JM, your grill worked fine last year for the big meal so the ODSS Mobile Grill is going to remain at the annex. Most likely, we will be there tomorrow eve around 8, hopefully sooner but that is up to my co-driver.
