got my heater rebuilt with 12 volt motor and installed. also installed my electric wiper motor and put new wipers on. still so much to get done but I am driving it runs pretty good but I cant take it to far till I get a spare tire.

forgot to mention I picked up two totally complete rust free doors on fleabay for 99.99 each from Montana bad thing is it cost me 100 each to have them shipped. but I guess for the condition they are in 200 a door not to bad.

Got the hand throttle hooked up today,had to do some modifications but it is working.

Tuned my carbs for more boost, vacuum referenced some power valves and gapped my spark plugs. All in time to watch some foos ball.

Finished wiring the dash, installed gauges and built a regulator to convert 12v to 6v for the fuel gauge. I will need to post pics of the dash...forgot to take some.

Bolted on a full set of Gabriel gas shocks on my '55 2nd 3100. Really smoothed the ride. Riding on a cushion of gas instead of just on the springs. No idea how old the set I took off was, they were marked "Sears"

The what I think is a original 37 fan came in the mail and I am not looking forward to changing it,there is only 1/4 inch between the fan and radiator and not sure if there is enough room to clear the hub.

Thanks, Jim! I really like the 400 poncho. Don't know anything about it, other than it has a rumpety cam and the big valve heads, and runs really smooth. Doesn't really need the 4 speed tranny, mostly I just use 1st and 4th!

Got the fan painted today and started restoring the heater,was going to send it out to be restored but money is tight so I am going to do it myself.

alternator, water pump pulley, and fan installed on the 230.

Started working on the 4 link rear for the '41.

Removed the old rear end. Found both seals were shot and the bearings not much better. Had fun figuring out what the rear came out of. Seems to be a '68 camaro rear. Any rate ground all the old fitments off it.

Tonight I hope to get the bearing and seals back in and new longer studs in the axiles (for the rotors on the disc brake set up)

I found a true Barn Find 1954 GMC 1 Ton 250 and got it home this weekend. It was purchased in 1955 by a gentleman who owned a mandarin orchard in Citrous Heights California. He took really good care of it and there was a treasure trove under the seat and in the glovebox of all things "old truck". He kept all of the tune up parts whenever he did a tuneup. All of the old points, plugs, caps and rotor were all under there as well as a rat that was still alive! I also found an open bottle of Jim Beam tucked in the cab corner, he was a true rebel, lol.

There's no rust on this truck at all, just the surface patina that comes with age. It spent it's whole life in this barn when it wasn't working, and when it was working, it was just driving between Citrous Heights and Loomis to deliver goods. So there's 62,000 miles on it. It sat in there since 2004 and I got it running yesterday with just a new coil and plug wires, some fresh gas and a new battery.

Pretty fun stuff.

Got home last night and did a double take on the rear end. I welded the brackets on the WRONG side. Measured them and checked the angle 3 times before tac welding them and then again before welding them. Just didn't make sure the rear didn't get turned over in all the cleaning. Spent last night grinding them back off. - wish I didn't do such a good job welding them on in the first place!

John, I feel your pain. At times it seems as though to learn something we have to do it twice.....then end up never doing it again in our lifetime...... but you ARE doing a good job!!

I went ahead and put a new coil while I was at it.

While under the hood and it was running I noticed a drip a gas coming from the filter at the carb

So I changed that too.

Hate you had to go through that John but it makes me warm all over to know I'm not alone here.

I got all the paint off the heater and going to send the core out to a local radiator shop to be tested next week and going to look into a 12 volt motor,going to send the 4 aluminum trim parts out to be restored and when it gets warm the 37 will have heat.

New rear springs and tube shocks going in... also going to a 3:55 dif... Hopefully a better ride and higher speed + easy on the engine..

Got the heater housing painted tonight.

Sadly nothing,got sidetracked to a mini gabfest with some friends.
I made the big mistake of getting it driveable before finishing it,can't bring myself to cut it's throat to get the rest of it done!(I'm having way too much fun!)
I will definitely be lifting the pick-up bed off in the next couple of days to start preparing for my new and much improved 4-link rear.

I really need to get the driveability improved,i've got some serious mileage to rack up this year.....

It's been a while since I've posted here.
I'm currently in the process of getting all of the disassembled Body Parts to bare metal. So far, I've done all of the fenders, the hood, Bed Headboard Panel and recently the Tailgate.
I must say, the shiny metal looks so good, I should just assemble and shoot clear!
Meanwhile, I'm stoked about setting up a Powder Coating system to do the wheel rims.

Installed in the Good Humor truck. Still long ways
to go before bringing life back in it.

Ground the brackets off the rear and re-mounted them on the correct side

Hung left and right front fenders (along with a few more engine bay items such as oil filter canister). Made speaker box back panels using fiberglass materials I had left over from a previous boat restoration project. 6x9 speakers are going to be a tight fit...especially on the fuel filler side.

Got the dash sanded, cleared and assembled.

gas line hooked up, new PCV valve and tube, got the clutch pedal hooked up (started adjusting it), and tried getting the tranny in... figured I'd stop and tackle that tomorrow night

Carb was leaking at the inlet so I found out the threads were stripped so I put on another top but it ran like crap and still leaked so I put on the YF I rebuilt,it was not working too good so I put on another Rochester that came off a motor that the bottom end let go and its better and no leak but will need some tweeking which I will do tomorrow.

Bought all my Poly-Armour brake lines and fittings and received my new BFG Silvertown bias-ply white walls.

Just got new diff gears installed and drove it for the first time...wow...what a difference. Not only better RPM with power but quiet rear end and perfect gearing for what I do...Now can maintain Fwy speeds w/o high revs and feel comfortable about not stressing the motor and tranny. Yes, went from 4.11 to 3.55.

Replaced rear leaf springs at the same time but needed to remove at 4 of the 8 leaves ! to achieve proper rear stance and comfy ride...With only two removed it sat way too high in the back... Should be a great pleasure to drive daily now.. Also went to rear tube shocks which help...

After getting it home 2 weeks ago I finally got 2 frozen brake drums off

Tried to install my SM420. First time (on the 235 it was a breeze by myself). Last night, not so much. I'll wait till I have some extra hands to get it in. Have to realign the clutch disc too (whoops)

Did you use guide (alignment) studs on the clutch housing?

Yea, I had everything lined up, but being my first clutch install of my life, I wasn't thinking and I wanted to make sure the Throwout bearing was the right one, and depressed the clutch pedal, which then (without the disc alignment tool/trans installed), the clutch disk itself shifted. So an easyish fix... newbie mistake and a lesson learned!

Well, at least I got started on changing the 350 tranny in my panel to the 700R4.......I got the 350 out today.

...after my run to Chick-fil-A in the morning I will put the 700 in and measure for the drive shaft. Since I'm having cataract surgery Tuesday morning it maybe next weekend before I can take it off the jack stands? At least I'm trying!

This week I pulled the steering wheel off my 47 AD and epoxied the cracks around the spokes. Tonight I ground down the epoxy and put a thin layer of Rage filler on. Sat is primer, and prepping the column and blinker switch for primer/paint.
