Oh yeah, the first time i opened up the trip deuces, i ripped both spring perches off the rear axle, actually tearing the the axle tubes apart. This forced me to source a stronger rear axle with posi-traction.
A few years ago, Cletis drove my truck in pleasanton california. It was loaded with about 1400 lbs of stuff in the back including a gmc 302 inline 6 on a run in stand. Cletis raced some rice rocket downtown from stoplight to stoplight. There was no problem pulling away with a 1400 lb load in the back.
