You are probably going to have difficulty with the engine mounts for a 455 in a 1958 chassis.

Since you are interested in Pontiac power, there is a really good book available. 1955-1979 PONTIAC MUSCLE CAR PERFORMANCE by Pete McCarthy. Another is Pontiac V-8 Engines by Jim Hand.
