its a delco genarator,and the regulator is a lucas type(lord of darkness).thinking about it last night i am sure there is not a earth strap between the engine and the frame.off the battery there is one strap to the frame and one to the body.i have taken both the generator and regulator off to get them bench tested.once i know these are both good i will but them back on,and fit a big earth strap from frame to engine.
