I'm not real clear on your terminology. If you are using a actual generator, not a alternator, your voltage regulator should have three terminals which connect internally to three coils...they look like sewing machine bobbins, is this what you are referring to. If this is true, I don't think your voltage regulator is correct and the charging system will not work properly.
