As far as clean and restoration, and how some say leave it alone etc. No matter what, the rust needs to be stopped. I know its arguable but the factory didn't purposely add rust to any parts, and rust does not make it original. There are cast iron lookalike paints available to keep the cast iron look and protect from rust. What is needed is some good old factory photos of the assembly line, I have seen some at swap meets etc.
