I have a "modern" jeep Cherokee and it rides like a lumber wagon. I have a 50 AD with radial tires, stock suspension, stock seat and the ride isn't that much worse than the Cherokee. I agree that the factory seat is a very important part of the quality of the ride. The bounce that you get from these trucks is very nicely moderated by the spring action of these seats. Kind of like the complex shock absorbing seats in modern big rigs.
