Texas still issues new (modern) Farm plates for those who qualify for an Ag exemption. But, old, orignal, Year-of-Manufacture FARM plates will not be allowed.
If I had bought Farm plates with the plan on running them, and I was Ag exempt, I would try to register them and different county offices. I went to two different county offices and got two different responses. The State controls the rules on this but the county clerks administer them.
