Markeb, thanks for driving that point home. It hadn't hit me until I read your post.
I'm not a mechanic or a body man, but of the two, I'll be better at dealing with mechanical issues, and it will be cheaper as well. So my best bet is to get a truck that runs ok and has a very good body. I'm in NC, and things get rusty around here. Maybe I should expand my search to the southwestern states. I can't imagine buying a truck I can't test drive first, but it might be my best bet so rust won't be an issue.
I feel like this I6 vs. V6 thread is going a totally different direction now, but it's all great info. Things like this will be a huge help to me. I really appreciate all the great things you all share on this forum. It's really terrific.
