The smallest V-6 is the 305.

I didn't read every word of every reply, so sorry if some of this is a repeat, but I've had just about every engine GM made in the '60's. They are all good. The 250 is a good all around engine. The 292 is a real good engine and actually my favorite in a 1-Ton. A Small Block V-8 is also another all around good engine. The V-6 is a power house, but likes to use fuel and today it can be hard to find parts for.
