#56756 02/20/2006 4:26 AM | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 1,867 | Ive got a 53 and shes running a little rich. Its an old carter 1 barrel on a 216. The carb was rebuilt be someone 2-4 years ago b4 I bought her.
I was told to turn the mixture screw in all the way, then back it out 1 and a 1/2 turns. After doing this I was told to turn it a small amount either way until running where I want her.
I still smell gas. No black smoke just running rich. Any ideas?
