Follow Dave's instructions.
- place a gasket on both sides of the plate
- use a light coating of sealer on both sides of both gaskets
- use thread locker (sealer type) on the bolts/studs in the holes you drilled
I received no instructions with the two plates that I bought off eBay. A different vendor kindly sent instructions that were quite good for the drilling BUT the instructions said that gaskets and gasket-seal were optional. It took three tries installing the assembly, filling the cooling system, and finding very small leaks - after four tries there were no leaks: (1) no gasket and a little sealer, (2) one gasket and a little sealer, (3) two gaskets with small amount of sealer on both sides of the gaskets.
