The cross-member was there but the final rubber shock-mount was not installed. It wasn't obvious to me initially where a mount would bolt on that 3-speed transmission - and it not being there, made it hard to visualize - but having found the OEM part I linked above, looks like it bolts directly to the ball-joint collar.

My understanding of these after-market cross-members is that they bolt to the bottom of the frame rails, as opposed to the vertcal section as shown in my pics?

Pics would be welcome Leonard - even if tranny is different.
I imagine if there is any difference in the final height with the after-market unit, that can be addressed by a spacer as necessary.
