With all this talk about "original", I'm surprised no one has brought up the word "correct". That could open up another whole can of worms!
I suppose if you restored it to "original", then everything would be "correct".
But then, are you allowed to use reproduction parts? In my mind, to be completely "original", one should only use NOS parts.
How many hairs do you want to split? Now I know why I don't get too worked up about that kind of nonsense. Get it running, and get it looking halfway decent, and that's good enough for me!
But, if that's your thing, go for it. It's your truck.
