Wow, that's a pretty narrow view of "original". If that were the case not many, if any, older vehicles would be original if they ever had a tuneup, tire change, new fan belt, etc.
I agree with a repaint.
I always thought original was a vehicle not modified from it's factory form but would allow you to make necessary repairs over time.
