I do remember the entire crossmember the bellhousing mounted on was removed. A trans mount that incorporated a couple diagonals to form a "K" member was used to regain some center of the frame rigidity.
That is an interesting idea. This afternoon I plan to remove the cab and look more carefully at the frame and crossmember.
