I've been working toward putting a Cadillac 500 in my '54 GMC 1-ton. Today I did the first trial fit and have a question or two for anyone else who has tried to use a big Cadillac in one of these trucks.
This was a first trial, aside from removing the steering column and gear, I've not changed anything.
It looks like I need to at least modify, if not remove the bellhousing crossmember to fit the transmission. And I need to do something to make the oil filter fit and it looks like either modifying the front crossmember or using a remote filter.
Anyone have experience with any of these approaches? I've love to hear what you did and even study some pictures!
