Here's a picture of the cross member I used after I removed the original one at the back of the engine:

The new U shaped cross member is from the 78 GMC 6500 truck I got my engine from. I did narrow it a few inches and make the pieces of channel to bolt in the frame to then bolt the cross member to.

I am also using a remote oil filter, works fine. But not sure what your options are for a remote oil filer are?
