jumping jehosphat Tim, your not kidding. This also reminded me of why I buy very little from Chevsofthe40's. I know a couple guys "around here" that can fab me one and I GUARANTEE a lot less than that....but I understand a business is in business to make money!! I guess I'm hoping someone will let me know of a tank that will bolt in, in place of the old one...maybe a jeep tank or van tank etc. I do want to put it in the same place. Thanks for the info guys and I still welcome any input for others.
Since I'm in no big hurry right now maybe I need to put in my "order" with the guys I know...if they still do it?
I kept my rusted out, cut up and basically destroyed tank to use as a pattern. I also use a torch to melt the "short neck" off where it attached to the tank as well as blast and paint the tube extending to the outside. Oh, what the heck, its just another challenge and I wouldn't even be doing this panel if someone hadn't said it couldn't be done
