Richard, thanks for your response and caring. This is my first "AD" truck since back in 1973 but as I see it the gas tank on the panels should be the same from about 47-53 if 1/2 ton. I am not sure about the surburbans but believe they are the same. SOMEONE will correct me if I'm wrong.
Mine is a 1952 1/2 ton panel. The tank goes under the passenger side between the driveline and chassis. The neck comes out the side right in front of the fender. I have the straps and they are in good shape but the tank it NOT even close to repairable.
