That is what the guys at both manufacture company said so it would have an adaptor for a original type sending unit or you could used it with out the adaptor and put in a pump/sender for like a fuel injected system the thought would also to make brackets for the pickups (for those that wish to relocate the tank out of the cab) the thing here is that it would be a 16 gal tank like original, some have said it would be too small but it would still allow for a factory type location for the spare tire.
