Ten years ago, when I first got my current truck, I mailed (neither of us had email at the time) Bob Adler (
Adler\'s Antique Autos ) . Now Bob has forgotten more about the AD trucks then most of us will ever know. I had asked about dropping in a 350/350 combo and Bob said,
"I have found that most people want to modify their trucks because they think the original system was inferior. I've been a student of Chev. Advance Design trucks for 25 years, and the more I learn about these early trucks, the more elegant they become. You are but a brief custodian of a more permanent industrial artifact. Consider your stewardship carefully; do nothing irreversible. Leave something for the next generation."
