I know the Edelbrock carbs are frowned upon here, but if I were you, I’d research the latest AVS 2 . See if it’s available in a 500 or less cfm. I’d been reading about how good they were at idle & off idle response that I started reading user reviews, which were all excellent. Once I got my C10 on the road I installed a 800 AVS 2 with mechanical choke on my 454. I don’t know how truck could respond any better than it does now. It’s at least worth looking into, imo.
