This conversion I would not hesitate to do. Once that stud is cleanly out , the design
of the tie rod end makes for a perfect fit in the original steering arms. As you tighten the nut down it feels like
that unthreaded part pulls down in the arm. Making a tight fit. It also seats down in a recessed
groove at the top of the arm.
