There is more to using the new style tie Rod ends than removing the original Ball end. It's recommended that you use the upgraded center link with the new style ends. The new ends thread on to the center link just like the originals. I did this swap on my'59, it wasn't all that involved. The new ends fit the steering arms perfectly, no reaming was needed.
I bought the parts from Brothers Truck, that was quite a few years ago.
