It doesn't look to me like the inner-to-outer cowl piece in front moved at all.
You don't have much to lose if you try pulling the hinge pocket and A-pillar to the rear with a bracket. You might want to temporarily weld the bracket right at the outer edge so that it just doesn't pull the hinge pocket out and leave the outer edge too far forward.
It looks like your guy pushed pretty much at the lower end of the A-pillar where the Z is deepest. Or maybe it was just the weakest spot.
