I once blew the muffler of a Model A completely apart. I'd been cranking on it without the ignition on and when I turned the key, it split the longitudinal seam, unrolling the can and blowing the baffles to the back of the muffler. The only thing still attached was the front and rear ends at a small part of the perimeter of each end. I threw the baffles away, wired the can back together and fired up the engine. grin
