Vac advance works - or at least the dizzy rotates CCW when engine rpm is increased.
Engine has not been rebuilt so break-in isn't a factor. I adjusted mixture screw according to manual after installing rebuilt carb. Engine ran fine for many months and miles before developing this problem which coincided with the fuel pump failure.
I thought both problems were symptoms of the same disease, i.e Fuel Pumpis Chinensis.
It seems there were two problems manifesting themselves simultaneously.
