The advantage of the original glass bowl pump is that you can see the clean fuel with no contaminants at the pump.

I have no soft lines in the system. It's all steel with threaded fittings from stem to stern.
That's great. you can eliminate fuel delivery issues.
Do what HRL suggested with the timing.
