All super helpful ideas! I will contact Jon (CarbKing) when this carburetor arrives.
I have to give some credit to "Wrenchbender Ret" for even suggesting the Rochester Monojet. Because the Monojet I found is from 1969 (my 292 is from year 1965), my fingers are crossed it will be a close enough fit to work.
The first thing I will do before rebuilding the carb, is mock it up onto the intake/exhaust manifold combo to see if anything is missing and if any modifications will be required.
I will definitely ask for help if needed.
If it helps, I've been impersonating a precision machinist now for more than 45 years. I'm a huge fan of "attention to detail." And I just love stuff that has lots of tiny parts.
