So the little cap on the side is moved in a bit every so often to push the grease in. Inside there should be a little Bakelite disc held in by a spring.
I have the four speed in my 51 1 Ton. When parked it dribbles small amounts of tranny lube onto the clutch and this can cause chattering. Some years later they put a bearing in the front that had a seal to stop that from happening.
