Thanks, Jerry. I see that, and exhaust scavenging is certainly key.
I was taught way back in the '60s that the duration at 0.050" lift was what to look at, not advertised duration. On that basis, the Elgin cam seems to be the longer exhaust duration cam, regardless the high advertised duration number on the Melling cam. You don't go by the 0.050" lift duration as the better apples-to-apples comparison point? Not trying to be argumentative... trying to understand.
