Apache/HotLinc........Looks like the discussion is turning way too high-tech and advanced with all these thermocouples, thermisisters, thermomanns, theoadelites, probably soon getting into tesla coils, deLorean flux capacitors, electrogravetics, Birkeland Currents, and we might end up modifying my ole 69C10 into a red & white flying saucer with a course set for Roswell, New Mexico......and maybe go back in time to the year 1947. Now, if they managed to shoot down my 69 Chevy instead of that freakin alien UFO, then they could have reverse-engineered it, and just imagine how highly advanced our civilization would be by now.
Today I had the amazing insight to go check my 69 Shop Manual, and I went to the Carb section to see if there was another screen after that little "barrel filter" at the entry of the carb. All the drawings show no screens after the barrel filter. I am pretty sure that I saw some type of screen (or maybe just a flat surface with a clogged end). So, Im going to crank the old gal up and get her back in my garage and pull the carb off and investigate. Guess I will also go ahead and attempt a short test drive to see if cleaning that barrell filter helped.
Will update when I know something.
Thanks for all your expert advice.
See your back at Roswell.......maybe I will stash an old weather balloon up under the camper top.
