MikeB.....Yes, I have 2 seperate issues going on. The most pressing one was the "lack of fuel" getting to the carb, as this causes me to break down on the side of the road. The other issue "No Start when warm" does not leave me by the roadside unless I do a Homer Simpson "DOH" and forget and turn the key off......then, I am stuck, and just have to grab a pillow and take an hour nap in the truck bed until the engine cools off......then, Im on my way again.
But I would love to solve both these riddles and leave all these gremlins and Murphey' Law hoblins behind.
Starter hanging up and getting hot.....I guess thats a possibliity, but there are no typical sounds of a starter turning as the engine revs up/down. With a discerning ear, you can pick that noise up pretty clear. But never hurts to reach past those hot exhaust pipes/mufflers and check the temp of the starter......just remember that I have a cheap laser temp reader.....could just shine that up on it to get some readings.
