Latest update: I used a piece of wire in a hook shape to slip through hole in cluster and the pinched it with the gauge. I was unable to move the wire so it is tight. I am securing it to the wire next to it.

I can honestly say that I am just under 1/2 tank on my gauge and it is accurately working! FYI, it is always preferred to have a fully charged battery when doing wiring! Ops!

End result......

Thank you Dad and Bart!.... fuel gauge wiring 101 is complete. I am sure my grade was a c or d due to stubbornness, lack of proper communication and “testing” things wrong.
