16.12.04 compared carb on truck with spare, nearly identical. Prepped spare for rebuild.
16.12. Friends helped rebuild original carb. Not spare, son n I installed carb attempted tuning. Set dwell to 33' approx. Adjusted timing to 8 to 12' at 1000rpm roughly. Still won’t idle. Fogged motor for winter.
17.01.01 removed passenger side duals, axle and hub. No issues coming apart. Found original paint and pinstriping on inside of inside rim, and some on outside of same. Found seal & bearing part numbers. Shaft & bearings are in excellent condition.

17.04.02 Son n I installed carb, drained fuel. Refilled half tank fresh gas. Gross polish on passenger side of fire body (below ladders). Tried firing up truck with boat's battery, it was too flat. Removed ladders for further polishing.
17.04.06 fired truck with different battery. Starts great. Trevor repaired choke cable behind dash, and reconnected, we adjusted sweep. Ran until warm, adjusted low idle to about 750rpm. Tried to take for drive, coughed and sputtered like crazy. Found bubbles coming through fuel filters corresponding with rough running. No fuel leaks found.
17.04.07 rechecked fuel lines after sitting for night, found wet area in steel line. Did some cleanup, removed officers side a pillar spot light for repair.
17.04.13 Son flared line and replaced old, found weak spring clamp and replaced with gear clamp as well. I repaired and cleaned officers side a pillar spot light.
17.04. Tried firing, excellent idle once warm, terrible stumbling upon revving still.
17.04.25 had carb guy come over. Helped check carb installation, rechecked dwell. Found to be 40° adjusted to 32°. Set up to readjust timing. Tried to fire, ignition switch became inoperable. Troubleshoot ignition, fuel. Discussed need for ballast resistor due to points damage. Gave carb guy $80USD($109.13)
