16.05.08 fixed wiring and switch for under hood siren. Worked on bulb for roof flasher, customized 1157 (originally 1507), all ready for new bulb. Took for drive and fuel run.
16.05.15 brought to Firehall did oil n filter. Fram PH8 filter (little too long) and 10w40 diesel engine oil. Reinstalled heater fan, but not wired. Tried roof flasher light, flange backwards. Found Speedo out of gear (hi / low)
16.05.20 drove to transit garage to show Kris. Down position on Speedo gear is low range. Speedo hundreds clicked over with tens. ( went to 110 miles when should've been 010)
16.05.22 polishing cab; changed oil in rear end, tranny and pump. Rear axle dirty very fine brass metallic, tranny like a chocolate milkshake, pump chocolate milk. Mileage 15115. Underhood siren stopped working. Removed roof floodlight. Signals intermittent and shorting. Picked up new bulbs for signal indicator and a battery shut off switch. $13.54, and installed.
16.05.29 truck to our house. Polished drivers side. Removed signal switch for rewire. cleaned cabin. Used RTV sealant on passenger window to sash, freed vent window. Partially pounded out drivers rear fender and checker plate.
16.05.31 reinstalled signal switch rec'd order from Bill's... wiring harness park & tail light gaskets and headliner. $369.28
16.06.01 brought to house for fuse & cleaning for school car show. Replaced front RT park light gasket and rear LT taillight gasket. Wouldn't start. Found bad ignition coil. picked one ($61.01) up along with new plugs ( F44T AC Delco) installed after show.
16.06.02 took truck to Sanderson Centre for Fort McMurray fundraiser.
16.06.04 truck out to pig roast, washed.
16.06.05 truck to Navy League car show, wife drove it in with friend. Lots kids all over it. Talked with body shop owner, re finish, his opinion stay with polishing and then wax. Clear it can also be done, don't repaint. Tried using heater fan, resistor seemed to start burning. Won 'best in show' judged by cadets. Took all of them for two laps around building. Took officers for ride around few blocks. Found roof leaks at wires from lights. Drove home n parked.
16.06.18 removed beacon light and flasher siren for roof check, found heavy rust with minor perforations under beacon, original paint under flasher siren. Truck had been burgundy. Cleaned rust with drill and wire brush.
16.06.11 took for fuel run.
16.06.12 - 17 brought to house to work on. Replaced flasher siren with new sealing washers and used gasket sealer for wires. Used body filler to repair roof under beacon. Cast beacon dome then urethaned inside dome. Replaced without bottom rubber to allow breathing space. Split nut from right front fender signal rebuild using lamp threaded tubing. Found original paint here also. Installed front section of headliner.
16.06.18 Participated in Piston Pushers cruise night. Truck ran really rough first mile or so. Then back to smokey but not bad. Lots of interest. Talked with old school mechanic regarding motor work. Suggested oil seals, distributor parts. Probably will be best to pull motor and rebuild this fall. Correct any and all issues. Drive back to farm headlights seem to intermittently short causing sputtering and high charge current. Drove mostly with only parking lights and with son escorting out of town.
