Duly noted Jerry. btw you talked me out of a trade for that vari-jet LOL. I'll keep my eye out for a Duo-Jet.

Been studying on that Q-Jet setup and it appears it may never have opened up those huge secondaries and operated as a 2bbl only. Since theres no choke control (other than the vacuum pull off) there was no way to move the choke controlled secondary throttle plate stop. Seems the OEM's didn't want those secondary bbls kicking in until the engine was good and warmed up and the choke linkage fully in the open position. The vacuum pull off doesn't do that, only the thermostat does.
In my previous post look at the pic labeled Q-Jet choke side pic and you can see how the choke linkage locks the secondary throttle plate closed (roll pin in the throttle plate shaft locks it closed). In any case since all I can do at this moment is sits and thinks so I'm reduced to just ciphering LOL.

Some other good news is I left the battery still connected and it hasn't discharged so theres nothing draining it down, at
least over the last couple 3 days anyways....
