I respect their opinions, but everybody and their brother puts them on their hotrods around here. I have one on my '49 and it runs great and the plugs look normal after 1,000 miles. If I ever have trouble with mine, I will contact carbking and see if he has an AFB designed for a 350.
We have 100 pound catfish which live in swift current, so an E-clone with its square shape, should hold the huge baitfish on the bottom.
I did not realize that your plug issue occurred before you were able to fix your leaky intake seal. I hope that was your problem. Your new spark plugs will tell you after a while.
