Brief update.
UPS arrived early today. Got back from my new favorite store (a hot rod specialties building stuffed plumb through with all kinds of goodies) and was greeted with the set of Corvette 265 exhaust manifolds.
They are in very good shape and are ready to bolt on. I am surprised at the port size difference. The 265 ports are visably smaller than the 350's.
PicPicI also received the new exhaust gaskets so I matched them up to both the heads and manifolds. The gaskets are marked for the 265 but they are the exact same size as the 350's exhaust ports. They are wide enough to work on the 265 manifolds so no problem there. The port size difference can be seen better in these pics.
PicPicI decided to measure the differences.
My rough measurements of the ports are:
265, exhaust ports = 1.19" X 1.19". Exhaust pipe port = 1.75" (basically will use 1 3/4" exhaust pipes.)
350, exhaust ports = 1.36" X 1.36". Exhaust pipe port = 2.16" (basically will use 2" exhaust pipes)
I'm planning on having 2" exhaust pipes/mufflers as I have most of the parts collected up but these manifolds
dump to 1 3/4 and use a flat gasket instead of a doughnut. I'll have to do some research to see how that'll work out.
