What precisely will I gain if I change the front Huck brakes in my 41 Suburban to disk brakes using the six lug conversion kit?
A few years ago I commuted to work in bumper to bumper traffic every day for one summer using my bone stock 41 pickup. A common issue was that a modern car would zip in front of me and then slam on the brakes. I would then have to stand on the brake pedal or in one case swerve to avoid hitting the car. I am building my suburban as a`daily driver, so I will probably be installing a dual master cylinder with a brake booster to reduce pedal effort. But I am wondering if a disk brake conversion would effectively reduce my stopping distance.
