So it's an Echlin part.. still just a big resistor though, which I've already explained will not work satisfactorily. Yes, when 2 high-watt resistors are in parallel it does spin well on HI, but then the OEM rheostat switch (connected in series) starts to smoke in MED position.
Aside from replacing the 6 volt motor with a 12 volt edition, I'm thinking that using a dropping resistor is kind of a crappy inefficient way of trying to address the problem.

So I've kinda exhausted that round of tests.

Methinks, I can figure a way to properly mount a Buck converter into the airstream -- perhaps others here have some suggestions as to how??
Of course an appropriate fuse will be ahead of it.

But it has limited output and not adjustable, contrary to the one on eBay.
