Ok fellas,hope I dont get banned from here.but this is how we commifornians do it.wr buy a new vin tag from either chevys of the 40s or the truck shop nothing illegal there.then we have the vin thats on the title punched into our new tag and either bolt it back on.we have been,doing this,for a long time my brother works for the chp and tells,me that as long as there is no dmv history on the motor or vin you will be ok.but that if the motor comes back hot.you lost your truck no ands ifs buts or maybes.
